My name is Tomika Robertson: But the children call me “Ms. Meka” or “Meka”.
I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a friend, AND a Teacher! I have been teaching children with ages ranging from 1 month to 12 years old for the past 10+ years.

For 15+ years, I taught infants and toddlers in notable schools such as Georgetown University and The World Bank Inc. in the Washington, DC area. In 2004, I transitioned into the Private School sector co-teaching Preschool and eventually teaching PreK, and Kindergarten here in the Annapolis area. From there, the desire to own my own school resurfaced and in 2010, A Giants Preschool was birthed and we opened our doors in 2011, offering families an alternative to the larger-than-life style of traditional daycare.
As a young child, my dream was to be a teacher like my late great grandmother Mrs. V. LeRoy who taught Kindergarten since I could remember! When I was of age, I would visit her school at the end of the day and I watched her create a stimulating learning environment with her hands, scissors, glue, and the use of bulletin boards. Issuing warm hugs and tough love was how she taught children for many years. Now, I have fond memories of us creating that same learning environment well into my teenage years before I had a classroom of my own.
